PRE-SEASON REPORT
We come into this game after an undefeated pre-season. We kicked off with a 4-1 win against Camelon, before heading up to win 1-2 away to Forres Mechanics. We’d return to Lanarkshire to defeat Newmains United 0-4, before drawing 2-2 in an entertaining game against Arthurlie.
PRE-SEASON REPORT
Gala Fairydean Rovers have had a mixed bag in terms of pre-season results. Their opening friendly was a 4-1 loss to Musselburgh Athletic, but an impressive 5-0 win against Vale of Leithen offered further signs of encouragement. Another loss soon followed, this time against Hill of Beath Hawthorn, but their pre-season campaign was rounded off with a 2-1 victory over Newtongrange Star.
ABOUT THE OPPOSITION
GFR were formed in 2013, as a merger between the town’s two football clubs. Home matches are played at the 4,000 capacity Netherdale Stadium in Galashiels, famed worldwide for its unique main stand. Opening in 1965, the brutalist concrete structure is a Category A listed building, and attracts visitors from around the world!
